A person of interest is in custody after three people with multiple stab wounds were found dead inside a Baldwin Park home Thursday night.
Police were called to the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue near Cavette Place shortly before 7 p.m.
Baldwin Park police officers arrived in about five minutes and saw someone inside a vehicle parked in the home’s driveway, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Modica confirmed.
That person accelerated quickly out of the driveway but crashed nearby within the culdesac.
The driver, described only as a male, was detained and is being held as a person of interest, Modica said.
Inside the home, investigators found three victims, believed to be two females and a male, suffering from multiple stab wounds. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The names and ages of the victims have not been released and any relationship to the person of interest was unknown.
“It’s safe to say that this was not a random act of violence. That there is an association but that’s what we need to determine during the investigation,” Modica said.
The motive for the stabbings was also unclear but Modica did say that there is no threat to the community.
